فیلتر شنی چیست

فیلتر شنی دستگاهی است که با صاف نمودن (فیلتر اسیون) فیزیکی آب باعث حذف ذرات معلق موجود در آن نظیر گل، رنگ، مواد آلی، پلانکتون، باکتری‌ها و ذرات حاصل از خوردگی می‌شود.
در این دستگاه، آب حاوی ذرات معلق را از بستری از ذرات یک ماده که می‌تواند شن و یا ذغال آنتراسیت (کربن اکتیو) باشد عبور می‌دهند. در اثر عبور آب از خلل و فرج بین ذرات شن، مواد معلق آب گیر کرده و آب تقریباً عاری از مواد معلق، بدست می‌آید. البته جمع شدن ذرات معلق در خلل و فرج فیلتر، باعث افزایش افت فشار می‌گردد که اگر این افت فشار از حد معینی تجاوز نماید، باید صافی را شستشو داد.
